We use ChronoTrack RFID timing technology, the industry leading provider of race timing and scoring solutions for endurance sports. Our single use bib tags are thin, saving you on bulk and lost chip fees.
We are the green choice.
Our registration computer kiosks eliminate paper waste on race day (in addition to manual data entry errors). Better yet, they double as packet pickup kiosks for a lightning-fast participant experience where bib numbers can even be assigned on the spot (no more passing around the master list printout).

We can't do anything about long bathroom lines, but at least the race day registration and packet pickup lines won't be. Remember those registration and packet pickup kiosks? After the race starts, they switch over to results kiosks. Participants and spectators can look up results instantly by searching a name or bib number. Of course, the online results page is mobile-optimized if you're not near a kiosk (ideal for instant results and minimizing crowds in COVID times). We've also got the ability to display real-time scrolling results (the modern alternative to paper lists) and set up announcer feeds as runners approach the finish line.
Your event's social media is fresh.
We send you the results link well in advance of race day so you can have your website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts ready to go way before the first finisher crosses the mats. Followers can track runners in real time!

ABOUT
Erik Kean grew up running in Cheyenne, WY for Central High, which got him recruited onto Princeton's track and cross country teams. Post-collegiately, he ran in the Colorado and Wyoming mountains to train for the 2004 Olympic Trials Marathon (finished 29th). He got into race timing full-time in 2010, after eleven years in running specialty retail (and even produced and directed a few races). Erik has timed them all, from tiny trail races to assisting with timing operations for Boston and Chicago marathons. In 2019, the Keans moved to Fort Collins to be near family and to re-launch Bighorn Racing. Erik is the timing manager of US and Canada for Spartan Race.
Kathryn Kean grew up in Northern VA but visited her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Fort Collins every summer growing up. She ran track and cross country for Haverford College and met Erik while working in running retail in NoVa. Kathryn went back to school for her BSN at Georgetown in 2010 and is currently a stay at home mom to their three kids, Lindsey (9), Nathan (6), and Charlotte (3). She manages the website and communications for Bighorn Racing.

We are hiring!
We are looking for a timer to join the Bighorn Racing team. The position is part-time/occasional, no experience necessary (we will train you), but excellent customer service skills are a must. Experience with running races or helping at races preferable. Hours are typically weekend mornings, with some local travel possible. Email a little about you to erik@bighornracing.com.
